Rapa Nui National Park Rules

The Park’s normative requires the visitors to buy the entrance ticket and to enter the sites with a local accredited guide or with a Rapa Nui adult (over 18 years old).

  • Do not touch. Avoid the accumulative impact. 
  • Respect our archeological vestiges by keeping distance and staying inside the trails. 
  • Respect the marked perimeters. Do not enter. Avoid fines and jail. (law Nº 17.288).
  • The use of drones is not allowed in the park. 
  • Photographs and films for commercial use must by authorized by Ma’u Henua. 
  • Do not throw your garbage in the park.; save it and dispose it in the garbage containers in Hanga Roa town. 
  • Camping is only allowed in certain areas, never close to the sites or archeological vestiges. 
  • Bicycles must circulate only on roads. The trails must be visited on foot. 
  • It is forbidden to smoke inside the limits of the Rapa Nui National Park. (law N° 19.419).
  • It is not allowed to drink alcohol or to enter the Rapa Nui National Park under its influence. (Law Nº 19.925)
  • Do not bring your pets while visiting beaches or any of the sites of the Rapa Nui National Park. 
  • Be respectful and conscious about our sacred sites.
